This study was financed in part by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Brasil (CAPES) – Finance Code 001.
This database was developed by [anonymized authors]. Initially, we examined Capes's databases of theses, dissertations, and academic journals, along with proceedings from Brazil's three main journalism and communication conferences: Compós, SBPJor, and Intercom's national conference.
We used the keyword "photojournalism" to query Capes's databases. We then exported and adjusted the data, eliminating duplicates and papers published in non-Brazilian journals. Conference proceedings were accessed year by year. We searched for "photojournalism" in the titles and keywords of all available conference proceedings.
We couldn't fully access theses and dissertations published before 2013 due to the lack of links in Capes's database. For these works, we only had access to their titles, authors, and affiliations.
SBPJor conference proceedings before 2013 did not provide accessible links to papers.
For Intercom's conference, we only included papers presented in its thematic divisions. Papers from Intercom Junior and Intercom's regional conferences are not part of this database. We couldn't access the 2004 and 2005 Intercom national conference proceedings because they're only available in Flash format, which is no longer supported by web browsers.
